About Us
History

Valley Self Storage, Inc. was founded in 1987 by Wyoming resident Jon Beeson, a Vietnam War veteran and engineer. His goal: to offer safe, affordable, and convenient self-storage facilities for the people and employers of Cincinnati’s Mill Creek Valley. That simple goal remains core to our values today, just as they did almost four decades ago. It's also why so many Valley Self Storage customers stay with us year after year. In fact, we’re exceptionally proud that several tenants have been with us since we opened.

In 2023, Jon’s son-in-law and daughter, Jeff and Brenda Blunt, joined him in operating Valley Self Storge, keeping the business independent, locally owned, and family operated.

Community Commitment

Jon and his late wife Carol Beeson were deeply involved in the Mill Creek Valley community. They contributed time and finances to countless community projects in Wyoming and surrounding communities for decades. Carol directed the preschool program at Forest Park’s Forest Chapel United Methodist Church and volunteered extensively for many local nonprofit community service organizations. Jon has long been and remains an active volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America.

Brenda, Jeff, and their kids continue this commitment to service. They volunteer at and contribute to numerous nonprofits in the Mill Creek Valley and throughout Cincinnati. Proudly, Jon, Carol, and Brenda are all past recipients of Wyoming Citizen of the Year recognition for their extensive community engagement.

The family’s community service extends to Valley Self Storage as well. VSS has supported community organizations in ways ranging from financial donations to discounted storage space. As a family-owned business, we believe that strong communities are driven by people and businesses getting involved and making them so.
